Poisoned Chalice

Ann Kioko, CitizenGO

Olivier, Naturally, every citizen would want to live in a well developed country and or the continent.
Proper roads, well developed and equipped hospitals, clean water, stable electric supplies, improved transport system are among many dreams you have of your beloved continent.
Due to various economic and historical differences, the west and east developed quicker than Africa, Caribbean and some Pacific Staes, resulting the difference in economic might.
To grow like the first world, these continennts would need aid and relationships with them. This is what the European Union is offering Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific States in the current agreement which is about to be ratified by the signatories.
The agreement has a lot of good financial proposals but in exchange, the signatories will need to legislate on abortion and comprehensive sexuality education.
This is ingenuine altruism literally, it is aid with strings attached which is very selfish of the European Union. Sign now, stop the ratification of the EU-ACPS agreement which demands for the push of abortion and Comprehensive Sexuality Education Fair trade agreements do not need to impose the killing of our innocent pre-born babies and or the sexualization of our children.
The signatories need to re-address these paragraphs in the trade agreement or withdraw for good. Thank you for standing to be counted. Ann Kioko and the entire CitizenGO team P.S. If you have already signed, please share the petition with your friends. Here’s the email we sent you earlier on this: You may not be aware of this but in April 2021 the African, Caribbean and Pacific States entered into a very controversial agreement with the European Union.
You have asked us when cultural colonialism will end in the developing world as it keeps happening and we have to stop it.
An innocent trade agreement has very controversial paragraphs that demand countries legalize abortion and comprehensive sexuality education.
You and I have to stop this now, for our sake and for the future generations. STOP THE EU-ACPS AGREEMENT Dear Olivier, In April 2021, the European Union negotiated an « Economic Empowerment » agreement with members of African, Caribbean and Pacific States.  This agreement would superficially look good to member states but has a lot of hidden agendas.
In what seems to be a fresh shot at Cultural Imperialism by the European Union, the agreement is very bad as it pushes for illegalities in the following paragraphs:
In Art. 29(5) – The Parties shall support universal access to sexual and reproductive health commodities and services, including for family planning, information and education, and the integration of reproductive health into national strategies and programmes.
Art. 32(2) – The Parties shall cooperate to eliminate preventable maternal, child and neonatal mortality and morbidity. They shall aim to deliver universal access to sexual and reproductive health services. They shall cooperate to address the growing incidence and burden of non-communicable diseases.
Art. 36(2) – The Parties commit to the full and effective implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and the outcomes of their review conferences and commit to sexual and reproductive health and rights, in this context.
Art. 40(6) – The Parties shall commit to the full and effective implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and the outcomes of their review conferences. You can stop this by signing and helping us reach as many people as possible. Each signature shall be sent to your ministry of foreign affairs asking them not to ratify this evil agreement. They shall further stress the need for universal access to quality and affordable comprehensive sexual and reproductive health information and education, taking into consideration the UNESCO International technical guidance on sexuality education, as well as the need for the delivery of relevant healthcare services. They shall promote and encourage the ratification and the effective implementation of the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa and support the effective implementation of the Maputo Plan of Action 2016-2030, as appropriate.
At the intergovernmental level, the term “reproductive health services” is defined by the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development as including abortion.
Because the references to “sexual and reproductive health services” contained in the Partnership Agreement fail to take into account the carefully negotiated protections for the right to life and State sovereignty in matters relating to abortion, these provisions can be regarded as effectively requiring that States Parties legalize abortion under any circumstances, including as a method of family planning, and as such must be rejected in the strongest possible terms. Add your name now, stop this very controversial trade agreement. Article 40 promotes the so-called “comprehensive sexuality education” (CSE), which is a “rights-based” approach to sex education to promote ‘sexual exploration’, abortion and radical understandings of gender and sexual identity.
It instructs children to explore their sexuality and advocate for their “sexual and reproductive health and rights” from a young age, all under the guise of ensuring children’s health and empowerment.
Instead of focusing on risk prevention and responsible and healthy relations, CSE explicitly rejects traditional family values and gender roles and severely interferes with the liberty of parents to educate their children in conformity with their moral and religious convictions, as enshrined in international law. The promotion of CSE is vocally and consistently rejected at the UN and related international fora.
Africa, Caribbeand  and Pacific States and other parts of the developing world have very pro-life laws and culture but they have been in a battle against the imposition of legal abortion and sexualization of their children by very powerful and well-funded bodies and countries. This agreement cunningly imposes abortion and CSE to its signatories and it must be rejected. We hereby ask member states not to ratify this agreement due to the evil agenda it has. Thanks for all you do, Ann Kioko and the entire CitizenGO team PS: It seems we are not clear enough when we tell these European countries that we can not take any more cultural imperialism! Does aid always have to be tied with abortion and sexualization of our children?
